A pint-sized Mouseketeer

When I start to talk to someone about Disney, I’m usually asked when I first fell in love with Walt Disney World.

Have I always been a fan?

I end up telling them about my favorite Memory visiting the park for the first time with my mom. We were celebrating or running away–it all depends on how you look at things–from my father dying. However, I think this photo clearly shows that I was “doomed” from a very young age to like everything and anything related to the Mouse.

My Favorite Disney Memory

Today I’m taking a trip down memory lane and sharing with you my favorite Disney memory.

I was a nine year old celebrity, well, at least at the Magic Kingdom.  My mom and I were watching the afternoon parade on Main Street and up walked Goofy holding what appeared to be fifty Mickey Mouse shaped balloons; he handed me the entire balloon bouquet.

At that moment I was no longer a girl who had just lost her father.

I wasn’t an awkward preteen.

I was special.

Random people during the day came up to me and asked me where I had gotten the balloons and if they could have one. Not only did I feel special, but I was able to spread the magic by passing on some of the balloons to others. It was a magical moment that I will never forget.
